El Classico, More To It Than Messi and Ronaldo

There is not many a bigger soccer match than the one we will witness this weekend between Real Madrid and Barcelona in the Spanish LaLiga. The match has taken a more significant importance with the form of Lionel Messi at the moment. No footballer anywhere in the world has got such a devastating form as Messi right about now.

Messi fever has gripped everyone including my countrymen, Mr. Messi and Argentina are grouped alongside Nigeria, Greece and South Korea at this year’s Fifa World Cup in South Africa, and with just weeks to go before the big kick-off, the guy is in the form of his life.

Back to the El Classico. One boring thing about the build up to this game is the fact that everyone is talking about only 2 players, Christiano Ronaldo and the Phenomenon himself Messi, as if it is only the 2 of them that will eventually take to the field of play.

How about Kaka, Benzema, Xavi, and the rest of the Real Madrid and Barcelona squad? How about the fans that will drum and make noises before, during and after the match. I love to watch El Classicos and this one is certainly going to be as exciting as any other before. Just in case you want history on past El Classicos, here is a link to Phil Minshull’s blog. His is a must read if you are an ardent follower of the La liga.

I will end this post with the video from the last El Classico match where Barcelona crushed Real Madrid 6-2 at the Bernabeau last May, check our featured video to watch.
